Therefore, it is necessary to conduct regular and irregular safety inspections and maintenance on the explosion-proof electrical equipment used.

    So, from which aspects should we confirm the explosion-proof safety performance of explosion-proof electrical equipment?

    1. Personnel

    AQ 3009-2007 "Code for Electrical Safety and Explosion Protection in Hazardous Areas" clearly stipulates that the inspection and maintenance of explosion-proof electrical equipment should be carried out by professional personnel who meet the prescribed conditions. These personnel should undergo business training, including various explosion-proof types, installation practices, relevant regulations and rules, as well as general principles of hazardous area classification. They should also receive appropriate continuing education or regular training, and possess relevant professional experience and qualification certificates, in order to improve their level of selection, installation, use, maintenance, overhaul and management of explosion-proof electrical equipment.

    2. Selection

    Explosion proof electrical equipment should be selected based on the level of the explosion hazardous area and the category, level, and group of explosive hazardous substances, and follow the principles of safety, reliability, and economic rationality. Special attention should be paid to the selection of mobile explosion-proof electrical equipment, as well as the relocation of explosion-proof electrical equipment in use, changes in process equipment or materials, and full consideration should be given to the explosion-proof electrical equipment and its usage environment, and it should be adapted accordingly.

    3. Procurement

    When purchasing explosion-proof electrical equipment, suppliers must be required to provide valid explosion-proof qualification certificates, and special attention should be paid to equipment with explosion-proof qualification certificate numbers ending with the letters "U" or "X". Full consideration should be given to the special requirements of the usage environment for explosion-proof electrical equipment, such as corrosion, high temperature, etc. The model, specifications, and explosion-proof markings of explosion-proof electrical equipment should meet the design requirements, and technical documents, attachments, and spare parts should be complete and complete. For explosion-proof electrical equipment purchased in bulk, a nationally recognized explosion-proof inspection agency can be commissioned to conduct sampling inspections.

    4. Installation acceptance

    The installation of explosion-proof electrical equipment and electrical circuits should be carried out in accordance with relevant national standards and regulations.

    The type, level, group, environmental conditions, and usage conditions of explosion-proof electrical equipment should comply with the design specifications; The laying method and path selection of electrical circuits should also comply with the design regulations.

    The wiring engineering of intrinsically safe electrical equipment must not only be constructed according to the design requirements, but also comply with the relevant provisions of the product technical documents.

    After installation, acceptance should be carried out in accordance with the construction acceptance specifications, and an explosion-proof electrical equipment file should be established (including explosion-proof electrical equipment ledger, copies of explosion-proof certificates, user manuals, inspection records, maintenance records, etc.).

    5. Check

    Inspection is a non dismantling or partial dismantling activity carried out to obtain the operating status of equipment, determine whether the equipment is safe and reliable, and supplemented by some testing measures. Explosion proof electrical equipment, systems, and installations should undergo initial inspection before being put into operation; Regular routine inspections should be conducted during operation. Initial and regular inspections should be entrusted to safety production testing and inspection institutions with explosion-proof professional qualifications, and the interval between regular inspections should generally not exceed 3 years.

    6. Continuous supervision

    Continuous supervision is the regular maintenance, inspection, management, and monitoring of electrical equipment by experienced technical personnel in professional installation and usage environments, in order to maintain the explosion-proof performance of the equipment in good condition. Continuous supervision is one of the important links in the safety management of explosion-proof electrical equipment throughout its entire life cycle. Professional personnel in enterprises should conduct continuous supervision as required and keep corresponding inspection records. For any abnormal phenomena (faults or changes) found, timely measures should be taken or subsequent repairs should be carried out.

    7. Maintenance

    Maintenance is a comprehensive activity that maintains or restores a product to a state that meets relevant technical requirements and achieves its required functions.

    Maintenance activities should pay attention to maintaining the integrity of the explosion-proof type of equipment, and replacement of components (such as bolts, screws, and similar components related to explosion-proof types) should be carried out in accordance with the requirements of relevant safety documents. Any components that have a negative impact on the safety performance of the equipment should not be replaced without the consent of relevant departments.

    8. Maintenance

    When explosion-proof electrical equipment experiences a decrease or failure in explosion-proof performance due to external chemical corrosion, mechanical wear, natural aging, etc., maintenance should be carried out. Maintenance should be carried out in accordance with the relevant provisions of GB3836.13-2013 "Explosive Atmosphere Part 13: Equipment Repair, Maintenance, Repair and Modification". After maintenance, inspection should be carried out. If the explosion-proof performance of the original level cannot be restored after maintenance, the explosion-proof level can be reduced or used as non explosion-proof electrical equipment.

    9. Invalid scrapping

    When the structure and parameters of explosion-proof electrical equipment change and do not match the original explosion-proof type and design, and cannot be repaired, it is judged as invalid and immediately stopped for replacement. For those that cannot meet the explosion-proof performance after repair, they should be judged as ineffective. Establish a system for scrapping explosion-proof electrical equipment that has failed, and prohibit the use of expired explosion-proof electrical equipment in hazardous areas
